2026 Peninsula Swim Team - Starts Tomorrow!!
Hello Piranhas,
We are so excited to officially start the 2026 Swim Season tomorrow! Just a couple reminders for practice this week!
Practices start Tomorrow, Monday, May 11th! 5pm-5:30pm - Junior Piranhas (8 & Under and first year Piranhas) *if you are an 8& under who swam with the 'big' Piranhas last summer - please attend the next practice*
5:30-6:00pm - 10 & under Piranhas
6:00-6:45pm 11& over Piranhas and invited 10& unders.
Practice Reminders:
1. Check in at the front gate. (Yacht Club members will need to bring a check to practice to pay for the season fees - we are not able to member charge to the PYC)
2. Parents are welcome to stay and watch practices, however we ask that you please stay in the designated seating areas. (These include any space on the deck with chairs except for the space behind the starting blocks) If we need your assistance during practice, we will come find you. The first week or 2 can be chaotic and overwhelming especially to our new Juniors - we ask that you give the coaches and swimmers some space during practice to adjust. We promise to come find you if we need you to intervene. Thank you.
3. There will be no towel service during practices. Please bring your own towels.
4. The first week of practice is historically chilly - the water has not had time to warm up from the sun yet and recent nights have been chilly! So be sure to bring some warm clothes and extra towels for after practice. And make the best decision for your swimmer. Our goal is to have happy swimmers!
**If we need to cancel practice for any reason, communication will be sent out as soon as the decision is made by email. If you haven't received an email about practice, assume practice is being held.**
5. What to bring to practice: Swimmers are welcome to wear any bathing suit they choose, we do recommend and encourage a one piece for the girls and speedo or jammers for the boys. It does not need to be the team suit. Swimmers will need goggles. We encourage and recommend the use of a swim cap for any swimmer who has hair that will cover their eyes or face when swimming. All other equipment will be provided.
6. There will be no practice Friday, May 15.
We will be sending out regular communication with reminders for the upcoming weeks, that will include important info about Swim Meets, Volunteer Needs, and practice reminders. You will see a lot of emails from myself and other Piranha Admins - please take the time to read all communication. We are looking forward to a great season, let us know if you have any questions and we hope to see you all this week!
