Hello Piranha Families, 

The end of the season is approaching fast, which means our Championship meet is almost here!  A lot of the little details will not be available until closer to Champs day, but i wanted to send out some information so you know what to expect!  

CHAMPIONSHIP INFORMATION:

2025 League Championship Meet - Sunday, June 29, 2025

Huntersville Family Fitness & Aquatic Center 

11725 Verhoeff Dr. Huntersville, NC 

Eligibility: 

*All Piranhas, who swim in at least 2 (weekday) Piranha meets, are eligible to swim in our Championship Meet on June 29 @ HFFA. There are qualifying times for each event & age group, however, swimmers who do not meet the qualifying times but swim in at least 2 meets are still eligible and will likely be entered into the meet. Your swimmer does not need to meet a qualifying time to swim at Champs.  (Last year, out of all our 10&under events, we only had 27 qualifying times.  For that 10& under age group, we could have up to 88 entries at champs.  If we only relied on our "qualifiers", it would be difficult to be competitive.  So long story short, we need all available swimmers at Champs regardless of times!)  Our goal, is to be able to put together at least 2 relay teams per age group, which means we need 8-10 swimmers each.  Please go ahead and sign up for champs - do not make the assumption that your swimmer won't "make" it to the Championship meet. The deadline for sign up will be Wednesday, June 25,  8:00pm. Unlike other meets, we will not be able to add swimmers once entries are submitted!  I will send out multiple reminders between now and then! 

Day Of the Meet: 

With 7 teams coming together for Champs, the meet can get very big - which would make it very long.  For this reason, we split the meet into two sessions - our 10 & under age groups and our 11& over age groups.  In years past, the morning session (10 & unders) has started at 9:00am and the afternoon session (11& overs) has started at 1:00pm.  Below is the timeline from last year - this year may not be exactly the same but it gives you a pretty good idea of what to expect.  

Morning Session:  10 & under age Groups.  

7:30am - Swimmers arrive

8:00am - Warm ups begin 

9:00am - Meet Starts

11:30am - Meet Finish

Afternoon Session:  11 & over age Groups

11:30am - Swimmers arrive

12:00pm -  Warm ups begin

1:00pm - Meet Starts

3:30/4:00pm - Meet Finish

Please let me know if you have any questions.  Champs will be here before we know it and as additional information comes out from the League, I will pass it along.  If you have not met the 2 meet requirement yet, please be sure to attend one or both of our remaining meets!
